Who Moved My Cheese Away?

Who Moved My Cheese Away was a book recommended in our book list in junior

high. It was a story with out complicated plots.

What with its simple wording and desire for deeper comprehension, with the help of

my English teacher, I bought an English edition.

The story was the thoughts and actions of two minds─Sniff and Scurry,

and two little people─Hem and Haw, after they found their cheese in cheese station

C disappeared. The mice, who were used to changing life, had noticed the cheese

was consumed little by little. They at once decided to leave cheese station C and

searched for new cheese. On the other hand, two little people were shocked greatly.

Both of them had hard facing the music. They argued with each other for the next

step.

Hem, who couldn’t afford the change. Began to moan and groan. He was stuck

in old concepts. Sitting in station C, where used to be filled with cheese, he

muttered and did nothing for the fear of change.“Someone moved my cheese away.”he

said. “Who moved my cheese!?”he yelled. In the meanwhile, Haw, was thinking about

the same question. “How could it happened?”he said. However, he stopped grumbling

and began to ponder. “What can I do?”he asked himself. The next day, he left C

and walked around other areas nearby while Hem refused to leave. “The cheese will

come back someday.” Hem, who was devoured by sense of lose, said passively. Haw

left alone. In his exploration, he wrote down some meaningful sentences on walls,

hoping to guide not only himself but Hem (if he left) the way to finding cheese.

In the long run, he discovered a new area, station N and found two mice and their

plump tummy there.

The world varies everyday. We may lose our cheese some day. Maybe the cheese is

your money, job or goal. What by a “little person”and his actions, the story is

just telling us how to mingle with your life─cheese losing and regaining. First,

we saw different reactions after a big shock. What will you do? Fall pessimistic

as Hem? Or you will thing further in a more practical way like Haw? We must have

a hard time accepting the facts, but we should beef us up. When we stop complaining,

our mind, released from annoying thoughts, start to meditate. Next, try to figure

out what you can do. Are you willing to suffer? Or you will act and make it a

difference. In the story Haw determined to leave;he must have hesitated and

confronted his fear. But he overcame and set out. And then, I think the story have

us a logical conception of discovery. At first, Haw didn’t go somewhere too far.

It’s the idea “step by step” gives us the proper way that we deal. Instead, walk

around and get accustomed to a new life of adventure. By the way, the surrounding

also supports you. The optimistic idea was based on the scattered cheese on the

way of his exploration. What’s more, to write down what you learned when you are

finding your cheese. It often encourages you.

Here are Haw’s words that give us wise directions. First, we should realize“

Change Happens.”“They Keep Moving The Cheese .”Thus we “Anticipate Change”and

“Get Ready For The Cheese To Move.”We Should Observe And notice some “Monitor

Change.”We learn that “Smell The Cheese Often So You Know When It Is Getting Old.”

And then we “Adapt To Change Quickly,”because “The Quicker You Let Go Of Old

Cheese,The Sooner You Can Enjoy New Cheese.”Next, we“Chang.”We should “Move With

The Cheese.”As we do that, we also“Enjoy Change.” We “Savor The Adventure And

Enjoy The Taste Of New Cheese.” Are you “Ready To Change Quickly And Employ It

Again And Again?” “They Keep Moving The Cheese!”

Whatever you lost, being ready to change matters!
